Triathlon at UCI is a competitive club sport team. Our team is open to undergrads, grads, and the entire UC Irvine community. Even though most of us had never done a triathlon before we joined, we are now proud to compete as part one of the nation’s top triathlon programs. Whether or not you are a newcomer or a competitive veteran, there is a place for you on our squad.
We’re lucky enough to have some pretty incredible athletes who all come together several days a week to work hard, mash zotts and have fun. We swim open water and in the pool, cycle on the roads and in group trainer sessions, run on the track and local trails. The phenomenal weather in Southern California allows us to take advantage of the local mountains, beaches, and trails for our training all year long.
The team is also a strong social group with regular get-togethers, camping trips, and other adventures. In addition to daily training the team has regularly coached clinics ranging from swim technique to racing transitions to bike safety and handling.
Our team also runs our annual Zot Trot Triathlon which takes place in early February.
Whether you’re interested in joining our team, participating in one of our races, or helping sponsor our athletes, we encourage you to get in contact with us here or follow and reach out to us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
